Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Louisiana Bureau of Investigation announced on April 9 the arrest of Eddie R. Balli, a 62-year-old resident of Crest Circle in Youngsville. Balli was taken into custody on April 8 and faces two felony charges: one count for distribution of child sexual abuse material involving a victim under the age of thirteen, and one count for sexual abuse of an animal.
The investigation began after agents received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The case was developed through collaboration between the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office. Balli has been booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center with bond set at $35,000. The investigation is ongoing.
