Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit arrested Geneva G. Johnson on March 12 for allegedly pushing a resident in the back of the head while working as a direct service worker at St. Mary’s Residential Community and Services in Boyce, Rapides Parish.
The incident is significant because it involves the protection of vulnerable individuals living in care facilities. Johnson, age 40, was charged with one count of simple battery of persons with infirmities under Louisiana law. The alleged incident occurred on November 10, 2024, after a verbal dispute between the victim and another client. According to authorities, video surveillance footage captured Johnson pushing the resident in the back of the head with force. Another direct service worker witnessed the event.
Following an internal investigation by St. Mary’s Residential Community and Services—formerly known as St. Mary’s Residential Training School—Johnson was removed from client care and later separated from her employment, according to an affidavit cited in the release. Her bond was set at $500, which she posted shortly after her arrest. The investigation remains ongoing.
