Linez Green, age 32, of Thibodaux, Louisiana, was sentenced on March 17 to 66 months in prison and four years of supervised release for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and related charges. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Brandon Long.
Green had previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances, distribution of a quantity of a mixture of methamphetamine, and illegal use of communications facility. The offenses were violations under Title 21 United States Code sections concerning drug trafficking and communication-related crimes.
According to the indictment, Green conspired with several individuals from an unknown date until at least May 4, 2024. The group obtained narcotics from Houston, Texas and transported them to Thibodaux for distribution throughout the Lafourche and Terrebonne Parish region in the Eastern District of Louisiana. Prosecutors said that Green used his cell phone on numerous occasions as part of the conspiracy and distributed methamphetamine to multiple customers in Thibodaux.
The case is part of Operation Take Back America, described as a nationwide initiative using resources from the Department of Justice’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN). According to officials, this operation aims “to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.”
The United States Attorney’s Office commended several agencies involved in investigating this case: the Drug Enforcement Administration; Louisiana State Police; Thibodaux Police Department; Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office; and Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Stuart Theriot handled prosecution duties for this matter.
