A St. Bernard Parish resident has pleaded guilty to federal drug and firearm charges, according to an announcement from Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson. Terry Baham, Jr., 37, entered his plea on August 12, 2025 before United States District Judge Brandon S. Long.
Baham admitted to possession with intent to distribute over forty grams of fentanyl, as well as quantities of cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana. He also pleaded guilty to possessing firearms in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
According to court documents, in October 2021 deputies from the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office received information about Baham’s alleged drug activities at his Chalmette residence. After obtaining a search warrant, law enforcement seized approximately 112 grams of fentanyl, 74 grams of cocaine, 14 grams of methamphetamine, 405 grams of marijuana and 112 THC cartridges from the home. Four firearms were also recovered: a Beretta Model BU9 Nano nine-millimeter semi-automatic pistol; a Glock Model 27 .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol; a Zastava Arms Model PAP M85 NP .223 caliber semi-automatic pistol; and a Sharps Bros. Model Warthog .223 caliber rifle.
For the drug-related offense, Baham faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison and up to forty years if convicted by the court. The charge carries a possible fine up to $5 million and at least four years of supervised release after imprisonment along with a $100 special assessment fee. For the firearm offense, he faces an additional mandatory minimum sentence of five years that must run consecutively with any other imposed sentence, up to $250,000 in fines, five years’ supervised release following imprisonment and another $100 special assessment fee.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney André Jones is prosecuting for the Narcotics Unit.
