A registered sex offender from Shreveport was arrested by agents from the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation on April 8 for allegedly sending sexually explicit messages to a juvenile and arranging to meet in person, according to a statement released by Attorney General Liz Murrill’s office on April 9.
The case involves Royce Eugene Adams, age 70, who resides on Land O Trees Street in Shreveport. Authorities charged Adams with one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile and one count of computer-aided solicitation of a minor. The arrest followed an initial tip received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that prompted the investigation.
Adams is currently listed as a registered sex offender. He was booked into Caddo Correctional Center with bond set at $100,000. The joint investigation included participation from the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, Shreveport Police Department, Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office, and U.S. Marshals Task Force. The investigation remains ongoing.
