A River Ridge resident was arrested on March 24 by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation under Attorney General Liz Murrill for charges related to child sexual abuse material and sexual abuse of an animal.
Authorities said Joseph Scott Warren, age 45, was taken into custody at his Tallulah Avenue home in River Ridge. He faces seven counts of child sexual abuse material and nine counts of sexual abuse of an animal. The arrest followed a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Officials said this case is part of the newly established Orleans Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The investigation involved several agencies including the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation Cyber Crimes Unit, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, Kenner Police Department, Gretna Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, and the LBI/Louisiana State Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit.
Warren was booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center. Authorities said his bond amount is not known at this time. The investigation remains ongoing.
