William Lang, a 47-year-old resident of New Orleans, was sentenced on May 28, 2025, by United States District Judge Jane Triche Milazzo. Lang had previously pleaded guilty to charges related to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute significant quantities of cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl. He received a sentence of 120 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release and a $100 mandatory special assessment fee.
Court documents reveal that Lang and his co-conspirators were involved in distributing multi-kilogram quantities of these drugs within the Eastern District of Louisiana.
This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation. OCDETF focuses on identifying and dismantling high-level drug traffickers and criminal organizations through a coordinated approach involving multiple law enforcement agencies.
The investigation was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s New Orleans Field Division Office. It received assistance from several agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, United States Border Patrol, Gretna Major Crimes Task Force, Kenner Police Department, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, St. John’s Parish Sheriff’s Office, Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office, and New Orleans Police Department. The prosecution is being managed by Assistant United States Attorney Lynn E. Schiffman from the Narcotics Unit.
