New Orleans man receives sentence for Chase Bank robbery

Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson has announced the sentencing of Clement Leach, a 54-year-old resident of New Orleans, who pled guilty to bank robbery charges. The sentencing took place on July 2, 2025.

Leach was sentenced by United States District Judge Sarah S. Vance to 80 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. He was also required to pay a $100 mandatory special assessment fee and $920 in restitution for robbing Chase Bank on March 2, 2020.

Simpson commended the efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Violent Crime Task Force and officers from the New Orleans Police Department in this case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jon M. Maestri from the General Crimes Unit is overseeing the prosecution.
