A New Orleans man has pleaded guilty to producing files depicting the sexual exploitation of children as young as seven years old. Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson announced that Cole Diggs, also known as Kevon Godson, age 31, entered his plea on August 28, 2025, before United States District Judge Barry W. Ashe.

Court documents state that between November 2021 and December 2022, Diggs used a multimedia instant messaging application to contact at least six minors, ranging in age from seven to fifteen years old. According to authorities, Diggs posed as a minor and sent sexually explicit images of adults while engaging in sexually charged conversations with the victims. He directed the minors on how to pose for explicit images and used extortion tactics when they expressed reluctance to continue sending material.

Diggs also offered to purchase and trade sexually explicit depictions of minors, including some obtained through his scheme.

“DIGGS faces a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of fifteen (15) years, up to a maximum of thirty (30) years. DIGGS also faces at least five (5) years, and up to a lifetime, of supervised release, up to a $250,000 fine and a $100 mandatory special assessment fee. DIGGS may also be required to register as a sex offender. Sentencing before Judge Ashe has been scheduled for December 4, 2025.”

The case is part of Project Safe Childhood—a national initiative started by the Department of Justice in May 2006—to address child sexual exploitation online by coordinating federal, state, and local resources for prosecution and victim rescue efforts. More information about this initiative can be found at www.projectsafechildhood.gov.

U.S. Attorney Simpson commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation for its role in investigating the case. Assistant United States Attorney Jordan Ginsberg is leading the prosecution.
