The U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana has begun the process of qualifying jurors for upcoming jury service. Residents who receive a Qualification Postcard in the mail are required by federal law to respond.

According to the court, receiving a questionnaire does not mean individuals are being summoned to appear at the courthouse. The document is intended only to determine eligibility for future jury duty.

Those who cannot respond online and do not reply within ten days will automatically be sent a paper version of the Qualification Questionnaire. The court advises recipients not to call to request a paper copy.

A statement from the court emphasizes: “The Court will NEVER ask for any payment information or for your Social Security Number as part of jury qualification or jury service at the Middle District of Louisiana!”

Further details about the juror qualification process can be found on the Jury FAQs page for the Middle District.
