Laurencio Olvera-Terrazas, a 54-year-old Mexican national, has been sentenced for illegal re-entry into the United States. The sentencing took place on June 10, 2025, under the jurisdiction of United States District Judge Greg G. Guidry. Olvera-Terrazas had previously pleaded guilty to the charge of illegal re-entry of a removed alien, as stated in Title 8, United States Code, Section 1326(a). This information was announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson.

The sentence imposed on Olvera-Terrazas includes time served and two years of supervised release. Additionally, Judge Guidry ordered him to pay a $100 mandatory special assessment fee.

Court documents reveal that Olvera-Terrazas re-entered the United States on or about August 22, 2024, following previous deportations on September 20, 1997, and March 12, 2007.

Acting U.S. Attorney Simpson commended the efforts of the United States Border Patrol in investigating this case. The prosecution was handled by Assistant United States Attorney Mary Katherine Kaufman from the General Crimes Unit.
