Acting United States Attorney Michael Simpson has announced the sentencing of Joel Becerra-Cesario, a 38-year-old Mexican national. U.S. District Judge Darrel J. Papillion sentenced Becerra-Cesario on May 27, 2025, to 27 months in prison for re-entering the United States after deportation. This action is a violation of Title 8, United States Code, Sections 1326(a) and 1326(b)(2).

Following his prison term, Becerra-Cesario will be deported back to Mexico.
