A Metairie resident, Robert Anthony Marsh, Jr., age 60, has pleaded guilty to federal charges involving possession of materials depicting the sexual exploitation of minors and illegal firearm possession by a convicted felon. The plea was entered on August 26, 2025, according to Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson.

Marsh faces a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years and up to twenty years in prison for possessing materials involving the sexual exploitation of minors. He also faces a maximum sentence of fifteen years for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Additional penalties include fines up to $250,000 per count, supervised release terms ranging from five years to life for the exploitation charge and up to three years for the firearm charge, as well as mandatory special assessment fees.

Court documents state that on December 19, 2024, law enforcement officials searched Marsh’s home while he was under supervised release following a 2014 state conviction related to juvenile pornography. During this search, authorities found over 21 videos depicting child sexual victimization and a Model 922 H&R Arms Co. firearm in his possession. Following his arrest by Louisiana State Probation and Parole officers for these offenses, Marsh was transferred from state to federal custody.

Sentencing is scheduled for November 18, 2025 before United States District Judge Darrel James Papillion.

The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse through coordinated efforts among federal, state, and local agencies. Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian M. Klebba is prosecuting the case as Project Safe Childhood Coordinator and Chief of the Financial Crimes Unit.
