Charles White, a 34-year-old resident of Jefferson Parish, was sentenced on March 12 to time served and three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute cocaine. U.S. District Judge Nannette Jolivette Brown also imposed a mandatory $100 special assessment fee, according to an announcement by U.S. Attorney David I. Courcelle.
The sentencing follows an investigation that began in June 2022 by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Authorities said White was identified as a member of a cocaine distribution organization with several co-conspirators.
During the investigation, agents conducted multiple controlled purchases of cocaine through an intermediary whom White believed was a legitimate seller.
The case was investigated jointly by the Drug Enforcement Administration and Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney André Jones from the Narcotics Unit prosecuted the case.
This sentencing highlights ongoing efforts by federal and local authorities to address drug-related offenses in the region.
