Isaac Thomas Henry Jr. has filed a lawsuit alleging unlawful termination due to age and disability discrimination. The complaint was lodged in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana on February 25, 2026, against Shell USA, Inc., and Danos, L.L.C. Henry claims that his dismissal from employment violated both federal and state laws designed to protect against such discrimination.
According to the court documents, Isaac Thomas Henry Jr., born on September 21, 1956, is a resident of Beaumont, Texas. He was employed by Danos in 2004 as a staffing employee and was assigned to various jobs at Shell over an eighteen-year period until his termination in 2024. His final assignment was on Shell’s Appomattox platform in the Gulf of Mexico where he worked under the supervision of Sean Ebner, Shell’s Process Manager. On June 24, 2024, while working on the platform, Henry experienced knee soreness and requested permission from Ebner to leave early for medical attention—a request that was granted.
Following his medical examination and treatment on June 25, 2024, Henry was informed by Travis Faison of Danos that he needed a return-to-work release from his physician before returning to work. Despite providing this documentation on July 2, 2024, Henry was notified three days later that Shell had terminated his contract due to health concerns about his ability to perform job duties safely.
Henry alleges that this termination constitutes age discrimination under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) and disability discrimination under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), as well as violations of corresponding Louisiana state statutes—Revised Statute 23:312 for age discrimination and Revised Statute 23:323 for disability discrimination. He asserts that both Shell and Danos acted as joint employers during his tenure at Appomattox.
The plaintiff is seeking relief including back pay, front pay, liquidated damages, punitive damages for emotional distress and mental anguish, compensatory damages, general damages along with reasonable attorney’s fees and legal costs. In addition to monetary compensation, Henry seeks any additional relief deemed appropriate by law or equity.
Representing Isaac Thomas Henry Jr. is attorney Robert J. Téte from Jones Téte Fonti & Belfour LLP based in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The case has been assigned Civil Action No. 2:26-cv-00403 but does not list specific judges presiding over it at this time.
