A Houston man, Anacleto Silva-Herrera, 40, has been sentenced to 37 months in prison for his role in a cocaine distribution conspiracy. The sentencing took place on August 20, 2025, before United States District Judge Jane Triche Milazzo in New Orleans. Silva-Herrera had previously pleaded guilty to two counts: conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine.

In addition to the prison term, Silva-Herrera will serve one year of supervised release and must pay a $200 mandatory special assessment fee.

Court documents state that Silva-Herrera and other co-conspirators distributed and possessed multi-kilogram quantities of cocaine within the Eastern District of Louisiana. He transported kilogram quantities of cocaine as well as proceeds from narcotics sales on behalf of a co-conspirator identified as a Mexico-based source of supply.

The investigation was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s New Orleans Field Division Office with assistance from several agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, United States Border Patrol, Gretna Major Crimes Task Force, Kenner Police Department, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Lynn E. Schiffman is prosecuting the case.

The case falls under the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) program. OCDETF uses a prosecutor-led and intelligence-driven approach involving multiple agencies to target high-level criminal organizations that pose threats across the United States. More information about OCDETF can be found at https://www.justice.gov/OCDETF.
