Cesar A. Lobo-Ramos, a 38-year-old Honduran national, has been sentenced to 24 months in federal prison for illegally re-entering the United States after deportation. The sentence was announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson and handed down by U.S. District Judge Brandon S. Long on July 22, 2025.

Court documents revealed that Lobo-Ramos re-entered the country after his deportation on April 10, 2018. He was discovered by Immigration and Customs Enforcement following an arrest by the Kenner Police Department on November 2, 2023, for resisting arrest and obstruction of police duties.

Lobo-Ramos faced an enhanced statutory maximum sentence due to a prior conviction for Sexual Battery in Jefferson Parish in 2010, which could have resulted in up to 20 years imprisonment.

Acting U.S. Attorney Simpson commended the efforts of both the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency and the Kenner Police Department in this case. The prosecution is led by Assistant United States Attorney Carter K.D. Guice, Jr., from the General Crimes Unit.
