A Guatemalan national has pled guilty to reentering the United States after being previously deported, according to an announcement from Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

Frailyn Argueta-Jeronimo, also known as Frailyn Argeta-Jeronimo, age 25, entered his plea on August 12, 2025. Sentencing is scheduled for November 12, 2025 before Judge Zainey.

According to court documents, Argueta-Jeronimo was located in the United States on March 27, 2025. He had returned without permission from the Attorney General after being deported on February 6, 2020. On March 27, federal agents were conducting enforcement operations in Terrytown, Louisiana when they saw a maroon Toyota Tundra arrive at a local residence and pick up a Hispanic male. The vehicle was registered to another Guatemalan national who had been removed from the country at least three times previously. Based on information gathered about the residence beforehand, agents stopped the vehicle and identified one passenger as Argueta-Jeronimo. He admitted he was in the country illegally.

Argueta-Jeronimo could face up to two years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, up to one year of supervised release and a mandatory special assessment fee of $100.

The case falls under Operation Take Back America—a Department of Justice initiative that coordinates efforts against illegal immigration and organized crime by using resources from both Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).

Acting U.S. Attorney Simpson recognized the United States Border Patrol for its investigation into this matter. Assistant United States Attorney Carter K.D. Guice, Jr., of the General Crimes Unit is prosecuting the case.

“FRAILYN ARGUETA-JERONIMO, a/k/a “Frailyn Argeta-Jeronimo,” (“ARGUETA-JERONIMO “), age 25, a native of Guatemala, pled guilty on August 12, 2025, to reentry of a removed alien, in violation of Title 8, United States Code, Section 1326(a), announced Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson.”

“His sentencing is set for November 12, 2025, before Judge Zainey.”

“According to the charging document…the Toyota Tundra was registered to a Guatemalan national who had been removed from the United States on at least three prior occasions.”

“Based on the prior intelligence gathered on the residence…a passenger…identified as ARGUETA-JERONIMO…admitted to being in the country illegally.”

“ARGUETA-JERONIMO faces up to two years imprisonment…a fine of up to $250,000…up to one year of supervised release…and a mandatory special assessment fee of $100.00.”
