Nicholas J. Miller, a 45-year-old former resident of Youngsville, was sentenced on April 21 to ten years in federal prison and fifteen years of supervised release following his conviction for distribution of child sexual abuse materials.
The case is significant as it underscores ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address the distribution of illegal material involving minors. The sentencing follows Miller’s January conviction after evidence showed he distributed such materials.
According to information presented in court, the Federal Bureau of Investigation received a tip in July 2025 that Miller had shared child sexual abuse material with Brad William Blanchard, a former Abbeville resident who was prosecuted separately and sentenced to more than twelve years in prison. Investigators confirmed that Miller distributed the materials and learned during his arrest that he had created social media accounts to entice minors into providing explicit content. Authorities also found that Miller used hidden cameras to capture additional illegal material before distributing it.
U.S. Attorney Zachary A. Keller for the Western District of Louisiana said, “Nicholas J. Miller…was sentenced to 120 months in federal prison, to be followed by 15 years of supervised release, after his January 2026 conviction for distribution of child sexual abuse materials (‘CSAM’).”
The FBI led the investigation into this case, which was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Danny Siefker with support from Paralegal Specialist Denise Duhon.
