Agents with Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Louisiana Bureau of Investigation arrested a Eunice resident on March 5 for multiple felony charges related to child sexual abuse material and sexual abuse of an animal, according to a March 9 announcement. Jed M. Courville, age 59, was taken into custody following a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The case involves serious allegations, including 275 counts of Child Sexual Abuse Material Under the Age of 13 and 115 counts of Sexual Abuse of an Animal. The arrest was part of a joint investigation involving the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Eunice Police Department. Courville was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail; his bond amount has not been disclosed. Authorities said the investigation is ongoing.
