Attorney General’s office arrests Port Barre man for child sexual abuse material

Attorney General Liz Murrill’s office announced that agents from the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation arrested a 19-year-old resident of Port Barre on November 10, 2025. The individual, Wyatt Avery Johnson of LA 741 in Port Barre, faces ten felony counts for possession of child sexual abuse material involving victims under the age of 13.

According to the Attorney General’s office, the investigation began after a tip was received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The arrest resulted from a joint effort between the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation and the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Johnson was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail. Authorities have not released information regarding his bond amount at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

“All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.”
